What Clothing should I bring to the Redwood Coast?
Comfortable walking shoes and layers are recommended. Coastal weather can change quickly, so bringing a light jacket or rain shell is always a good idea.

All of our tours and picnics keep children in mind and are engaging for both adults and kids.
Are your tours pet friendly?
Depending on which area we are going to, some of our tours accept pets. However, the national park does not allow dogs on trails.
What is the best time of year to visit the Redwoods?
The Redwood Coast is beautiful year-round. Summer offers warm temperatures and coastal fog. Autumn boasts the clearest skies and epic sunsets. Winter showcases lush forests and flowing streams. Spring is excellent for wildflowers, waterfalls, and wildlife viewing.

Are Redwood National Park and the state parks the same?
Redwood National and State Parks are managed together as a partnership between Redwood National Park and California State Parks. Together they protect nearly half of the world’s remaining old-growth coast redwood forests.
How many days should I spend in Redwood National and State Parks?
Most visitors enjoy spending two to three days exploring the parks. This provides enough time to experience several trails, coastal viewpoints, wildlife viewing, and nearby communities throughout Humboldt County.
What are the best things to do in Humboldt County?
Many visitors combine hiking among ancient redwoods with exploring rugged beaches and tidepools. Humboldt County also has incredible breweries, farmers markets, and charming coastal towns like Trinidad and Ferndale. We can help build a custom itinerary during your visit.
Where can I find the tallest trees?
Many of the world’s tallest trees are found within Redwood National and State Parks in Humboldt and Del Norte Counties. Your guide will point out several champion trees up close during your experience.
Where should I stay?
If your main goal is to explore the redwood forests, we recommend staying between Trinidad and Klamath — this stretch provides the closest access to iconic spots like Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park, Redwood National Park, Fern Canyon, and the James Irvine Trail. If you enjoy vibrant downtowns, local restaurants, breweries, and shopping, Arcata is an excellent home base, with a wide variety of dining, charming local shops, and one of California’s best year-round farmers markets every Saturday on the historic Arcata Plaza.
